Humanity at work for essentially needy in Isles

Port Blair, June 09: In the 2nd wave of pandemic in these Islands lot of local private workers and people in general are facing trouble to meet their daily needs because of extended lockdown, and some Social Organizations, Charitable Trusts and Good Samaritans came forward once again to help the needy people in these islands.

Accordingly, All India Legal Rights Organisation has distributed Ration Kits among much needed people of Haddo Ward No.2, Mithakari, Ograbranj, Tushnabad, & Chouldari which consist of Rice, 2 types of pulses, 3 types of vegetables, salt, oil, and spices etc. "Efforts are on to help as many needy people of this Islands during this Pandemic Situation" said Mr R. Vasanth, Youth Wing Secretary (AILRO).

Yuva Bharat Samaj Seva Charitable Trust (YBSSCT) undertook food relief measures for widows, Street vendors, Labourers, and daily wage workers, who lost their jobs during this pandemic. The ration kits were distributed to needy people at Dairy Farm, Prem Nagar, Haddo, Dignabad, Anarkali Basti, Dollygunj, Old Pahargoan, Prothrapur, Brichgunj, and Kamraj Nagar. A total of 100+ ration kits were distributed among the needy families.

Working with a thought of "No One sleeps without a meal", Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi has provided ration kits to some needy families in Buniyadabad in the presence of Mr. K.Ganeshan. It has also provided with ration kits at Coffee Bageecha to around 10-15 families at each area. Mr. Mandeep Grewal , President, PBGKR quoted that "will try whatever best is in our reach to do for our beloved islanders, anyone in need of the ration can reach us at 9933222191 / 94342 95278."

As all are non-profitable organization and are rely on community support. Organizations expressed thanks to every individual donor for their contribution and support. Also, thanks are due to the Food Corporation of India, FSD, Port Blair for extending their support by providing ration items at a fair price.

Many of the occasions at many areas of Ration Kits Distribution were graced by Shri Suneel Anchipaka, DC South Andaman, Shri Hari Kallikkat, SDM South Andaman, and Miss. B. Yashaswini, AC (UT), and are appreciated the humane gesture by Social Organizations and motivated the dignitaries for coming forward during the time of much needed to the society.

- K Yadagiri Rao Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 27: It was a significant achievement in our nationís fight against the ongoing illegal drug trade with the seizure of the huge quantity of illegal drugs by Indian Coast Guard (ICG) of Andaman Nicobar Command in Andaman Seas creating history in the maritime domain in India. Based on an input, Andaman Nicobar Command took an operation on Nov. 25 and apprehended a Myanmarese Fishing boat named "Soe Wai Yan Htoo" in Andaman seas which was carrying approx. 6000 kgs of prohibited drug Methamphetamine.
